Oxygen Phone Manager for Symbian phones supports Messaging function. It can read messages from the phone (SMS, MMS, e-mail), delete them, send SMS messages and receive all types of messages supported by the program.
Please, note that Messaging section works in immediate reading and writing data! If you delete a message from the program when the phone is connected, it will be deleted from the phone as well.
To start working with Messaging section, select it from the Phone Explorer.
In the right side panel you are able to see the main window of Messaging section with all folders in the tree:
Here you can read all or just selected folders choosing items from the pop-up menu of the tiny button
, create new SMS message (next versions will enable you to create multimedia or e-mail messages), use Search option -
button - add folders or delete existing ones (if it is a custom folder). To go to the needed folder, choose it in the Phone Explorer or make a double click on it in the main window.
If you click the right mouse button on a chosen folder, you will see the pop-up menu:
As you can see from the screenshot, you are able to add or delete custom folder, rename it, read current folder data, open the folder and view folder properties.
IMPORTANT NOTE: you are not able to rename or delete standard folders, it is only possible for custom folders which you are able to create yourself with the
button on the toolbar. Deleting custom folders is possible using
button.
Main window's status bar is a very convenient interface element, as it shows the total amount of messages stored and the quantity of unread messages. You can also view the size which both two groups take in the phone memory. Status bar also reflects the receipt of message(s) and their number if there are any.
